DAMASCUS: Two rockets struck the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday leading to a major chaos. This occurred when several hundred people got together to show their support for Moscow’s air war in Syria.
Journalists present at the scene stated that around 300 people started to gather for a demonstration to support Russia for its recent involvement in Syria when the rockets crashed into the embassy in the Mazraa neighbourhood of the capital.
This incident sparked widespread panic, however, it was not immediately clear if anyone in the incident was injured or killed.
This is not the first time that the Embassy has been attacked because opposition fighters from the suburbs of the capital have targeted the Embassy earlier too. But it is still not clear if the attack on Tuesday was intended at the rally.
Russia started initiating airstrikes against rebels in Syria on September 30.
