Dubai: Etihad Airways has announced the continuation of its flights over the Sinai peninsula in Egypt.
After assessing the situation in a comprehensive manner, Etihad said there is no evidence to show a motive behind the unfortunate incident of the Russian airplane crash in the region.
The airways company said in a statement on Monday, “In line with procedures taken by many airlines, Etihad Airways is committed to the instructions they receive from the Egyptian authorities.”
“The authorities said avoiding flying in certain areas of the airspace will affect flights,” the statement said, adding the Etihad will continue to follow the situation closely.
The statement apologises in advance to passengers for any slight delays or inconvenience that might occur because of the situation.
The safety and security of passengers remains the highest priority of the company, it said.
