Bulgaria: The recent Paris terror attacks have started a bizzare series of bomb threats. Almost each day since that fateful Friday the thirteenth, several bogus bomb threats have been reported.
Today a plane flying from Poland's capital of Warsaw to Egypt had to make an emergency landing after a bomb threat. It diverted to Bulgaria and landed safely there.
The plane had 161 people on board and made an emergency landing in the Black Sea city of Burgas, Bulgarian authorities reported.
All 161 people onboard were evacuated and no explosives were found.
A passenger who alerted crew about a possible bomb admitted on questioning to having consumed alcohol, a police spokeswoman said.
The aircraft was a charter, destined for the Egyptian city of Hurghada, spokesman for the Polish national carrier LOT said.
