Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday, the first day of his four-day visit to Malaysia and Singapore, that India and Asean are the bright spots of optimism.
“We meet at a time of multiple global challenges. In this difficult, India and Asean are bright spots of optimism,” Modi said in his address as the 13th Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-India Summit got underway here.
“Asean remains the the largest investment partner – both for inward and outward flows – but there is great potential for expansion,” he said.
Modi will also attend the 10th East Asia Summit here on Sunday.
