A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal on Wednesday afternoon

New Delhi: A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal on Wednesday afternoon, creating panic in the Himalayan country. The earthquake, with its epicenter in Sindhupalchowk district of central Nepal, was felt at 3.07 p.m. Nepal local time.

People came out of their houses and offices when the tremors were felt. The 25 April, 2015, Nepal earthquake, also known as the Gorkha earthquake, killed over 8,000 people, injured more than 21,000 and thousands become homeless. It had a magnitude 7.8.
Another major earthquake occurred in Nepal on 12 May 2015 at 12:50 pm local time with an intensity of 7.3 magnitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was on the border of Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk. This earthquake was on the same scale but was further east than the original earthquake.
