Kabul: A week after the Taliban announced the start of their annual spring offensive, an explosion as a result of detonation by a suicide bomber tore through Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Tuesday morning.

Terror outfit Taliban have claimed responsibility for the bombing near the Afghan intelligence agency office citing the inhumane act as a revenge for Mullah Omar’s death. A thick plume of black smoke could be seen rising from the vicinity of the sprawling US embassy in the Afghan capital.

According to sources, at least 25 people have been reported dead and over 50 injured. Security personnel are trying to take control of the situation. As per latest reports, gun battle between security personnel and the terrorists is still underway.

Reports also said that the Intel agencies were the prime targets of the suicide bombing.
