New Delhi: Indian origin IS terrorist Siddhartha Dhar from Britain has been dubbed as the new Jihadi John. He is believed to have replaced his previous executioner who was killed by US in a drone attack.

Siddhartha Dhar, now known as Abu Rumaysah is the new commander of IS. A British Hindu who converted to Islam, Siddhartha is a well known figure among radical Islamists in London. Recently, a Yazidi teenager who was held as a sex slave by a group claimed that she was kidnapped and trafficked by Siddhartha Dhar himselves.

It is believed that Dhar had skipped police bail in the UK to travel to Syria with his wife and young children in September 2014 and just a week later, he announced his arrival in Syria by posting an image online of himself holding a rifle and of his newborn child.

The IS is a Salafi jihadist militant group that follows an Islamic fundamentalist, Wahhabi doctrine of Sunni Islam. The group is also known as Daesh.
