Dhaka: A 62-year-old Hindu monastery worker, Nityaranjan Pande, was scythed to death by some unknown attackers in Bangladesh’s Pabna district on early Friday.
 
As per police reports, “There was no eye-witness to the attack as it happened very early in the morning.”
 
This incident came two days after a priest was slaughtered to death by some unidentified attackers in western Bangladesh.
 
There have been continuous attacks on minorities, secular bloggers, intellectuals and foreigners in the last three years that have left more than 40 dead. Pande is the 12th person to be killed in a series of attacks on minorities by suspected Islamist militants.
 
Bangladesh has a majority Muslim population with Hindu’s making up about 8% of the population.
