US Capitol lockdown lifted

New Delhi: The US Capitol police have lifted the lockdown that they had briefly ordered on Friday.
The US Capitol and the Capitol Visitor Center were on a brief lockdown on Friday morning as the police said they were looking for a female who was possibly armed and was suspected to be hiding in the basement of US House office building.
No one was allowed to leave or enter the building at the time of the lockdown.
This move was taken following the shootout in which a sniper in Dallas killed 5 police officers and injured 7.
On being interrogated the Dallas sniper suspect said he wanted to kill white people, especially police officers, the Dallas police Chief David Brown said while addressing media.
As per Chief David Brown the cornered sniper suspect was killed with a bomb carried by a robot after talks broke down between the police and the gunman.

The slain suspect said he was not affiliated with any group and acted on his own, confirmed the Dallas Chief.
