Berlin: Two people lost their lives in the Stuttgart seige incident on Monday in Germany. A large-scale police operation was under way after reports that an active shooter was at large in Stuttgart, Germany.
As per reports a gunman was holding two people hostage in a building in Stuttgart. The building belonged to a law firm.
When the police arrived both the gunman and hostage were found dead with gunshot wounds in the basement of the building.
Earlier a witness had alerted the police when she saw a gun-wielding man breaking into a building in the eastern part of Stuttgart.
The area for now has been secured by the authorities.
Two train stations of Ruhbank and Olgaeck are under police scrutiny with train services suspended till further update.
Last month, a masked gunman had opened fire at a cinema in Vierheim, east Germany, after taking a number of hostages. He had later been shot dead.
Stuttgart, the sixth largest city in Germany, is the capital and largest city of the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany.
