Paris: Officials investigating the Bastille Day attack in Nice, France arrested a man and a woman in connection with the attack that killed 84 individuals, the BBC reported on Sunday.

Mohamed Lahouaiej, the French-Tunisian national behind the attack, was killed by police during the attack. After the attack, five people, including the lone attacker’s wife, was taken into police custody.

Three arrests were made on Saturday and two on Friday after the attack took place on Thursday night, according to French daily Le Monde.

Emotions were high in France after the attack as the French President Francois Hollande announced that they would observe a three-day mourning period for the victims of the violent attack. France was celebrating its National Day by commemorating the Storming of Bastille during the French Revolution.
