New Delhi: At least 24 civilians were executed in the last 24 hours by the Islamic State after they seized a village in northern Syria.

“IS has executed at least 24 civilians in the last 24 hours” after seizing the village of Buyir close to the northern town of Manbij from the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The village is located some 10 kilometers northwest of Manbij, a key waypoint between the Turkish border and the ISIS de facto capital of Raqa city.
