Twin bomb blast kills one in Hua Hin, Thailand

New Delhi: In a recent unfortunate incident reported from the Thai resort of Hua Hin, Thailand two bombs exploded, killing one and leaving at least 10 injured.

The officials said that, the bombs were hidden in plant pots spaced 50m (164 ft) apart, and were detonated by mobile phones within half an hour of each other.

Sources confirmed that twin bombings in Thailand’s three southern provinces are regular occurrences because the region is wracked by an insurgency. However, it is rare to find such attacks in Thailand's tourist areas.

Hua Hin, a coastal resort on the Gulf of Thailand, is popular with foreign and Thai visitors. It is famous as the preferred home of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
