New Delhi: Presence of an ‘active shooter’ at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) on Sunday led to an emergency evacuation at the airport.
As per current reports that have emerged, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has denied any gunfire at the airport. 'They were only loud noises,' they said. At present they are trying to locate the source of sound.
Earlier there were reports that one person had been detained and passengers stuck at the Airport were exited from Terminal 8. There are no reports of any injuries as of now, as per the LAPD spokesperson.
Airport officials have, however, blocked the entrance to the International Airport and passengers are being assisted to safer areas.
A large number of police officers and other emergency services were rushed to the LAX soon after reports of gunfire.
Chaotic photos and videos from the airport emerged on social media which showed confusion and people running in all directions at the airport.
The incident at the Airport was reported to 911 by multiple people, and security forces were rushed to the rescue of passengers.
