New Delhi: After rigorously imposing the law on women to cover themselves from top to bottom with burkas, in a strange turn of events, the terror outfit, Islamic State (IS), has now banned the burkas (veil) for women due to security risks in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
As per the report published in The Express, the terrorist chiefs changed their mind following a string of attacks on their commanders by women wearing burkas and niqabs in recent times.
Despite the ban in security centres in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, IS expects a dress code of gloves and gauze. The change in policy came out in the wake of the liberation of the Syrian city of Manbij.
A French court last month suspended a ban on the Islamic burkini swimsuit brought by local authorities in a French Riviera town after it was challenged by rights groups.
