Spain: Two dead after train derails in Galicia

New Delhi: At least two persons were killed on Friday after a passenger train derailed in north-western town of O Porrino in Spain.

Reports said that the accident occurred when the train derailed after it arrived at the station and collided with a lamppost at the side of the track.

Renfe, the train company responsible for the service confirmed the incident on Twitter. It expressed its condolences towards the victims and their families.

O Porrino is some 80km south of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.
