New Delhi: A 30-second non-verified clip which has been doing rounds on the social media has left the viewers stunned. The video which has gone viral showcases a Syrian rebel blowing up himself with his comrades while taking a selfie.
In the footage that went viral, around eight men can be seen sitting and enjoying in front of a rebel flag as they sing into a microphone one by one, with two rifles propped up in front of them while they sing.
The bizarre incident took place when a man picked up a phone to take a selfie with his comrades; unaware about the rigged phone, the Syrian rebel blew himself and his fellow members up by taking a selfie with a phone connected to a bomb. A clicking noise can be heard just a moment before a sudden blast shook the room with flames and smoke.
The rebels can be heard shouting 'Allahu Akbar' (God is great) as they jump over the camera to help others. However, it still remains unknown if anyone was injured or killed in the blast.
The camera that recorded the incident was not destroyed but bent downwards also the other men in the room appear to be uninjured which suggested that the bomb was smaller than being used by rebels and IS.
The rebel group is also fighting against forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following the uprising in the nation in 2011.
