New Delhi: Speaking at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Baloch Republican Party Representative Abdul Nawaz Bugti on Tuesday welcomed the statement by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India’s mission to highlight Pakistan’s atrocities in Balochistan.
Exposing Pakistan’s killings and violation of human rights in Balochistan, Nawaz Bugti said, “Worsening human rights situation in Balochistan requires immediate attention of HRC. Enforced disappearances and custodial killings of Baloch political activists by Pakistan security forces have intensified in last several weeks.”
Bugti continued and said, “Pakistani forces claimed to have arrested over 13000 people from Balochistan since 2015 but not a single case was brought in any court of law. This further exposes the impunity with which the Pakistani forces operate and carry out a systematic genocide in Balochistan.”
“We call on this council to take immediate measures to stop the systematic genocide of Baloch people by Pakistani state,” Bugti added.
