Turkey: Shooting outside Israeli embassy in Ankara

New Delhi: A man has been shot after he tried to storm the Israeli embassy in Turkey’s capital Ankara. According to reports, the man was trying to enter the embassy with an accomplice on Wednesday afternoon.

The attacker was armed with a knife. He was shot in the leg and detained after trying to attempt a stabbing attack.

No one at the embassy was hurt, officials said.

A suspicious package was also found close to the embassy and is now being examined by the bomb squad.

According to BBC, several embassies in Ankara were closed last week amid reports of a possible terror attack.
