New Delhi: Within the mixed reactions for the retaliation for Uri attack, India has garnered support for carrying out the cross-border surgical strikes to eliminate terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC).
Top United States lawmakers have come out in support of the operation carried out by the Indian Army. "Uri attack against India was horrific. Prayers are with victims’ families. I will continue to follow India’s subsequent counter terrorism op closely," US Congressman Steny Hoyer tweeted on Friday.
Another supporter of the operation was Pete Olson who tweeted, "Our sympathy and support go out to India as they work to counter the terrorism they faced in the Uri Attack."
Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona also tweeted in support of India's action, "Condolences to the victims of last week’s terrorist attack on the Indian Army base in Kashmir. We stand with India fighting terrorism."
On September 28, Indian Army carried out cross-border operation to drive out and eliminate terrorists who were suspected of infiltrating into the Indian soil. The incident occurred after the terror attack at Uri where 18 Indian soldiers were killed by terrorists.
