New Delhi: Two Tamil students were gunned down on Friday by police in Sri Lanka’s Tamil-dominated former war-zone Northern Province’s Jaffna city.
The students were shot dead on early Friday morning at a police checkpoint in Jaffna.
Initially, police denied the shooting, saying that the two students died of an accident. But the autopsy report found bullets lodged in the bodies.
The two students have been identified as Sundiraja Sulakshan of Kandarodai and Nadarasa Gajan of Kilinochchi.
Five policemen have been arrested and have been suspended of their duties also.
