New Delhi: In yet another industrial accident in China, 67 people have been killed when a part of an under construction power station collapsed in Fengcheng on Thursday. Several others were also trapped under the rubble.
Two people were injured in the accident. Rescue work was underway.
Fatal mishaps in industrial sites are very common in China. In October, 21 people were killed and five others were injured in a pipeline explosion in central China.
According to official data, some 281,000 work accidents were reported in China last year, resulting in the death of 66,182 people, although some non-governmental organisations claim that the actual figure is higher, as many accidents go unreported.
