India, the largest troop contributor to UN peacekeeping operations, will serve on the organisational committee of the world body’s peace building commission for a period of two years.

India along with Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Pakistan will represent the troop-contributing country category on the Organisational Committee of the Peace building Commission for the period from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2016.

From the group of leading financial contributors, Canada, Germany, Japan, Sweden and the Netherlands would serve two-year terms on the committee from January 2015.
