Explosion in Pakistan school

Islamabad:A primary school in Pakistan was targeted in a blast early on Wednesday morning.

Some unknown miscreants planted explosives in the Tangi Gharyal School situated in the Mamund tehsil of Bajaur Agency in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Dawn reported.

There was no loss of life or injuries reported as the blast occurred early in the morning.

Another planted explosive went off near the area when the tehsildar was on his way to the school to examine the situation.

According to official sources, 116 schools have been targeted in Bajaur Agency since 2005.

An extremist insurgency, led by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), plagues the region and the area is known to be infested with militants, including those from Al Qaeda and other armed extremist organisations.
