Amidst the unending tension between India and Pakistan, the neighbouring country on Thursday alleged that India was “building a secret nuclear city” with an aim of stocking nuclear material and also developing intercontinental missiles. India has rubbished all claims made by the neighbouring nation terming it as their “figment of imagination”.

“The so-called secret city appears to be a figment of the Pakistan (sic) imagination. India has always been in compliance with all its international obligations,” said a statement from New Delhi that came from the the External Affairs Ministry.

Addressing a press conference, the allegations were made by Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Nafees Zakaria who provided no evidence or supporting material to back his statements.

Zakaria also alleged that India was sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan, the video evidence of which has already been presented to the United Nations.

Tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi have recently soared ever since the attack at the Uri base camp followed by the continued violence in Kashmir.

The claims, backed with no evidence, also come as India continues to attempt at being incorporated in the 48-nation Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
