WASHINGTON: The world powers and USA have finally announced a comprehensive nuclear agreement. US President Barack Obama on Tuesday said that the nuclear deal with Iran ‘makes our country and the world safer and more secure’.

In his early morning statement delivered from the White House, President Obama said, “The United States, together with our international partners, has achieved something that decades of animosity has not — a comprehensive, long-term deal with Iran that will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”

The statement from the Obama came after Iran and world powers reached a historic deal for Tehran to control its nuclear program in exchange for the moderation of economic sanctions.

Tehran has been discussing with the USA, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China for years, with diplomats extending a series of deadlines with an aim of developing a practical map.

In a huge releif for India, the oil prices will now fall follwoing the anouncement of the Iran nuclear deal.

"Deal not built on trust but on verification. We have stopped the spread of nuclear weapons," Obama added in his statement.
