A Chinese navy’s hospital ship arrived at the Colombo port for a four-day stopover, Sri Lankan officials said on Monday. The ship named “Peace Ark” sailed into the port on Sunday in its first visit to the island nation, reports Xinhua news agency. The ship will be open to the public and provide medical services, said Major General Guan Bolin, task commander.
This is the sixth time for Peace Ark to carry out “Harmonious Mission” and Sri Lanka is the first stop for its 2017 mission.
It is expected to visit Djibouti port, Freetown port in Sierra Leone, Owendo port in Gabon, and Pointe Noire port in Congo.
