A Pakistan fighter pilot was martyred on Wednesday after his plane crashed near Mianwali during a normal routine operational flight in Punjab. According to reports, Wing Commander Mohammad Shahzad died in an unforgiving plane crash in Mianwali’s Sabzazar area which is approximately 350-kilometres away from Lahore.
The pilot witnessed a technical fault when he was on his F-7 aircraft and crashed in a forest just after take-off from MM Alam airbase. The area was later cordoned off after the incident by air force personnel.
“The body of the deceased pilot was recovered from the site of the incident and shifted to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Base MM Alam, Mianwali, where the funeral prayers were also offered,” Pakistan Air force media wing was quoted as saying.
With that an investigation into the crash has been launched by the Pakistan air force.
