In the wake of another massacre that shook the United States, President Donald Trump on Wednesday will be heading to Las Vegas in a time of complete misery to pay homage to the victims and survivors of    one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history. Calling it a ‘very sad day’ for the people of the United States, Trump said that he will also be visiting Las Vegas to appreciate the fantastic job done by the police in short time.

“It’s a very, very sad day for me personally,” Trump said. “We’re going to pay our respects and to see the police who have done really a fantastic job in a very short time,” he added. While speaking to media on Tuesday, the Republican said that he will be in Las Vegas to pay personal respects and condolences to everybody. “What happened is such a tragedy, so unnecessary, who can believe what happened to Las Vegas?” the President later added that the mass shooting was indeed “a very horrible thing even to think about”.

While giving his first reaction about the mass shooting, Trump called Stephen Paddock sick and demented. “He’s a sick man, a demented man, lot of problems, I guess. We’re looking into him very, very seriously,” Trump said. In the Las Vegas shooting, at least 59 people were killed and more than 520 injured when a gunman opened fire into an open-air  country music concert at Mandalay Bay Resort’s 32nd floor on Sunday night. The shooter identified as Stephen Paddock was a resident of Mesquite, Nevada. Authorities found several weapons in Paddock’s hotel room as per law enforcement officials.

According to reports, the shooting took place at around 22:30 (local time). An online video showed a musician named Jason Aldean performing outside the resort during a country music festival, the gunfire started during his performance. The music was stopped as people rushed to find safety.

“The band ran off stage and it was pandemonium. Everyone was running, people were getting trampled,” an eye witness Jon Bessette told NBC News post the unfortunate incident. Later, many videos surfaced on social media of people escaping from the incident scene. There were reports of other incidents at different locations along the Las Vegas strip, but police said they believe the dead suspect acted alone.
