On the disclosure of a previously confirmed Jaish terrorist, ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh stated on Saturday that the police had discovered three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and three sticky bombs.
According to Mukesh Singh, “Kathua police today seized 3 IEDs and 3 sticky bombs on the confession of apprehended Jaish terrorist Zakir Hussain Bhat.”
He claimed that the case is still being investigated further.
The investigation to determine the role of drone dropping of weapons/explosives is ongoing, and following the disclosure of the terrorist who was apprehended, the aforementioned IEDs and Sticky bombs were discovered before they could be used to carry out any terrorist activity, according to a police officer who wished to remain unnamed.
A terrorist who had surrendered and was a member of the Jaish terror network in Basantgarh was also detained by Udhampur police, which is significant. He is suspected by authorities of having recently fixed and detonated two IEDs/Sticky Bombs utilising timers in two parked passenger buses in Udhampur town. The Kathua police also detained another terrorist and found a sticky explosive.
