Akshay Kumar to Assay Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Next

Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, Akshay Kumar’s debut Marathi film, began filming on Tuesday in Mumbai. In the historical drama directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the actor will portray Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. As the first session of the movie began in Mumbai, he posted a new video of himself dressed as the fabled Maratha warrior.

In an Instagram post on his first day on set, Akshay shared an Instagram post about his first day on set, putting up a photograph of himself with folded hands before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s portrait. He wrote, “Aaj Marathi film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat ki shooting kar raha hoon, jisme Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji ki bhoomika kar paana mere liye saubhagya hain. Mein unke jeevan se prerna le kar aur maa Jijau ke ashirwad se mera prayas karoonga.

Aashirwad banaye rakhtiye (Today I start filming for the Marathi movie Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Sat, in which I have the honour of portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Ji. I’ll make an effort to draw motivation from his example and Mother Jijau’s blessings. Send your blessings our way.

The actor also published another photo in which he displayed his on-set complete outfit as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Akshay can be seen moving toward the camera in the Instagram Reels footage as a joyous song with the lyrics “Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani” plays in the background. He added the caption “Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji” to his post.

Jay Dudhane, Utkarsha Shinde, Vishal Nikam, Virat Madke, Hardik Joshi, Satya, Akshay, Nawab Khan, and Praveen Tarde are also featured in the Marathi movie. On Diwali 2023, the Vaseem Qureshi-produced film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat will be seen for the first time in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

In the movie Ram Setu, which came out in October, Akshay was most recently spotted. Recently, he appeared in the currently playing movie An Action Hero, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana.
