In connection with a case involving the funding of terrorism and connected to shady operations of the Al Huda Educational Trust in the Union Territory, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at several places around Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

In the Jammu and Kashmir districts of Rajouri, Poonch, Jammu, Srinagar, Pulwama, Budgam, Shopian, and Bandipora, the anti-terror agency has been conducting searches at various areas. According to NIA officials, the case is connected to the dubious operations of the Al Huda Educational Trust in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri region.

As a front organisation for Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, which was designated as a “unlawful association” under the UA(P)A in 2019, the Al Huda Educational Trust’s financing patterns and activities were the subject of a suo-motu investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to sources, these searches were conducted out by several NIA teams based on particular information. The Central Reserve Police Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police coordinated the operations (CRPF).
