Yamaha has released a new theme song for its newly-launched scooter, the Cygnus Ray-ZR. Named “RayZR Mera Swag”, the song is composed and created by the popular rapper Badshah, and it was launched in Mumbai by the musician in the presence of Roy Kurian, vice president, sales & marketing, Yamaha Motor India. The music video was created, conceptualised, produced and distributed by Sony Music Entertainment India.
Commenting on the partnership with Badshah, Roy Kurian said, “The Cygnus Ray-ZR is a real boy’s scooter specifically targeted towards the youngsters and has been very well received since its launch. Having Badshah on board will give additional impetus to it, as he has a huge fan following and majority are youngsters. He is one of India’s finest rappers and Yamaha is very delighted to partner with him.”
First showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Yamaha Ray-ZR was launched in May this year.  It is the first Yamaha scooter in India to get front disc brake as an optional extra. Targeted at young male riders, the sporty scooter gets an edgy style that makes it stand apart from the crowd. 
Powering the Ray-ZR is the same 113cc air-cooled motor that powers the entire Yamaha scooter fleet in the country. The carbureted engine makes 7.1PS at 7,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 8.1Nm at 5,500rpm. It uses the company’s patented “Blue Core” technology for better efficiency and claims to return a best-in-class fuel economy of 66kmpl.
