The Shivpuri, Patel Nagar, and Boring Road offices of builder Gabbu Singh were among the locations in Patna, Bihar, where the Income Tax (IT) division conducted searches on Friday.
Rajiv Ranjan, also known as Lalan Singh, the national president of Janata Dal (United), closely associates with the builder Gabbu Singh. As the IT raids are currently taking place, further information is anticipated.
The change occurred months after JDU leader Nitish Kumar violated the party’s pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party, joined forces with the opposition and swore in as Bihar’s chief minister for the eighth time.
Even though the BJP was the only party running, the BJP-JDU coalition won the election in Bihar in 2020, and Nitish Kumar was appointed chief minister.
In less than two years, Nitish Kumar changed his mind and unexpectedly forged an alliance with the RJD and Congress to establish a “Grand Alliance” administration in Bihar.
The political landscape in the state has shifted since Nitish Kumar split with the BJP and established a claim to form a government with the RJD.
Earlier this month, Nitish Kumar had split from the BJP to form a coalition government with the RJD and other parties. On August 10, the Chief Minister and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD took the oath of office.
The overall strength of the Bihar Grand Alliance is 163. Its actual strength increased to 164 when Nitish Kumar received backing from Independent MLA Sumit Kumar Singh.
The JD(U), RJD, Congress, CPI(ML), CPI, and CPI(M) make up the Grand Alliance Bihar administration, which has a combined strength of more than 160 in the House’s 243 members.
