New Delhi: After the industrial conglomerate, Tata Sons replaced Cyrus P. Mistry as its Chairman and named Ratan N. Tata as the interim chairman of the company, Ralf Speth the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jaguar Land Rover and N. Chandrasekaran, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), have now been appointed as Additional Directors on the Tata Sons Board on Tuesday October 25.
Giving out his first brief after appointment on Tuesday, Tata Sons Interim Chairman Ratan N. Tata urged group companies to “act as leaders in their respective markets and enhance returns to shareholders”.
“The companies must focus on their market position vis-A-vis competition, and not compare themselves to their own past. The drive must be on leadership rather than to follow it,” Tata said, speaking to the group companies’ managing directors and senior corporate leaders.
Cyrus P. Mistry, 48, born in Ireland, had taken over as Chairman of Tata Sons four years ago, in December 2012.
