After the corona epidemic, the biggest problem has come about employment. Many people have lost their jobs. But along with this, work from home and freelancing have also got a new look. The youth of Bihar is constantly trying to give a new dimension to the freelancing sector. For providing an extra edge to work from home and employment, a platform named “The Writers Community” has been prepared by Ankit Dev Arpan of West Champaran district of Bihar. The specialty of this Writers Community established in the year 2020 is that it is wholly based on freelancing. Ankit Dev Arpan explains that this platform has been created to provide employment to the youth and develop skills in them.

Ankit Kumar is an alumnus of Navodaya Vidyalaya. He has done writing work in many magazines, and he started freelancing in the year 2016. Although he points out that scams are widespread in this area and the pay is also not good, he founded the Writers Community. Known as Ankit Dev Arpan on social media, Ankit Kumar is famous for his Hindi writing. Social work has also been done continuously by him. Ankit Kumar said that he is also doing social work through the ‘Writers Community.’ We start the Employment generation in the past, but from July 2021, we are making a new beginning. They will now give Three Percent of the profits earned from the Writers Community to the “Bharat ke Veer Foundation.” He also said that we are also providing free training and employment opportunities to the freelancers regularly.

Ankit Dev Arpan explains that initially, it was challenging for us to start the platform for freelancers. But due to the continuous support of co-founder Shanya Das and the hard work of the initial members, the WhatsApp group of 3 people is today established as a community of more than 500 people. The Writers Community has worked with several e-learning platforms, including Unacademy, Embibe, Pariksha Adda, and Masterji. In the beginning, Writers Community did only writing-related work, but now the particular focus is on delivering online learning material to the students at the lowest fee. Ankit Dev Arpan said that since he has been an alumnus of Navodaya Vidyalaya and is inspired by “Desh hame deta hai Sab Kuch, Ham Bhi to Kuch Dena Sikhein.” Therefore, he has also prepared a plan to give free model question papers for one month for the Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance examination.

Along with giving employment opportunities, they are also trying to prepare other educational materials for the economically weaker Bihar and other country’s backward regions. Other freelance work, including creation of books, data entry, translation, press release writing, web development, copy editing, proofreading, etc., is done by the Writers Community. Ankit Dev Arpan and Shanya Das said that soon its online portal, The Writers Community, will also be released. People will be able to get employment-based on Universal Sample System and predetermined payment. It will be a freelance marketplace where other freelance work will also be readily available. The Writers Community aims to provide employment opportunities to more than one thousand people in the next two years and increase access to online learning materials at the lowest rate. This effort of Ankit Dev Arpan and Shanya Das is continuously appreciated.
