The China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 carrying 132 people crashed on Monday. 123 passengers and 9 crew members were killed in the crash.
The whole situation was soon caught up in social media, with many claims being projected. One such claim was a viral video that had been viewed as the last video of the plane before it was struck by turbulence and crashed. However, it was discovered that the video was fake.
In rural Guangxi, near Wuzhou city, the crash plane was found at an altitude of 3225 feet and a speed of 376 knots.
China Eastern Airlines was questioned due to the fact that its plane was 6 years old, with no new generation set-up, and a narrow body (re-engined) model that was involved in this crash. The company grounded all its 737-800 Boeing aircraft in the wake of the crash.
As a result of this incident, Boeing’s trade stock dropped from 179.97 to 6.4%.
