Covid case surge: India reports 12,249 new cases, 13 deaths

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 12,249 new COVID-19 cases in India in the previous 24 hours. Active cases currently account for 0.19 percent of all positive cases in the country. The number of active cases in the country is presently 81,687, with a daily positive rate of 3.94 percent.

According to the Ministry bulletin, up to 13 persons perished from the illness in the previous 24 hours.

A total of 9,862 patients recovered from COVID, bringing the recovery rate to 98.60%.

The total number of COVID recoveries is currently 4,27,25,055. In the previous 24 hours, 3,10,623 COVID-19 tests were performed. India has performed around 85.88 Cr (85,88,36,977) cumulative tests to date.

India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 196.45 crore with vaccinating 1,96,45,99,906 people.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on March 16, 2022. So far 3,58,99,199 adolescents have been administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
