On Tuesday, the country registered 15,528 instances of illness. With the recent increase in COVID-19 infections, India now has 1,45,654 active cases.

According to official data, the country’s current recovery rate from COVID-19 infection is 98.47 percent, with 18,517 recoveries in the previous 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,31,32,140.

The death toll has risen to 5,25,825 with 40 more deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

Across all, 87.06 crore Covid tests have been performed in the country, with 4,98,034 tests performed in the previous 24 hours alone. According to the Ministry, the daily and weekly positive rates were 4.13 and 4.64 percent, respectively.

India has delivered a total of 200.61 crore vaccinations against the Covid-19 infection as part of the statewide immunisation effort, including 92.71 crore second doses and 6.11 crore precaution doses.

In the previous 24 hours, India gave 26,04,797 doses of COVID-19 vaccination.

India has “made history again,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday, referring to the country’s achievement of giving two billion vaccination shots in just 18 months.

“India creates history again! Congrats to all Indians on crossing the special figure of 200 crore vaccine doses. Proud of those who contributed to making India’s vaccination drive unparalleled in scale and speed. This has strengthened the global fight against COVID-19,” wrote PM Modi on Twitter.
