6 People Were Killed in Delhi-Meerut Expressway Collision Near Ghaziabad

At least six people were killed in Delhi-Meerut expressway collision near Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning.

At least six people succumbed to death including two children and two are seriously injured in a horrific school bus-car collision on Delhi-Meerut Expressway on Tuesday morning 11 July according to local police.
Police said the school bus was reportedly coming from the wrong direction and had no student on board.

“A school bus and SUV met with an accident on the Delhi Meerut Expressway at 6.00 am today. The bus driver coming from the wrong direction after filling CNG from Delhi near Ghazipur. The people in the car were coming from Meerut and had to go to Gurgaon. There was a head-on collision. Six persons died and 2 are seriously injured. The driver of the bus has been caught” reported ANI quoting Ramanand Kushwaha ADPC Traffic Police.

“There were 8 people in the car. Two injured people are being treated in the hospital. The school bus belongs to Bal Bharti School which is in Noida” ADPC Kushwaha said.

The probe has been started immediately after the incident. According to some media sources the traffic police have accused the National Authority of India (NHAI) of its lapses over this matter. Kushwaha said “We have the deployment of traffic police at various points on the expressway. If the NHAI had informed us from their monitoring control room, we could have taken some steps to stop the bus. But there was no such alert”.

On Monday this week, there had been a collision between a tanker and tempo on the Lucknow Varanasi Highway near Mohanganj market in Pratapgarh leaving nine people dead said an official.
Incidents of vehicles collision have been on the rise for the past few months Delhi-NCR region. This has become a very serious issue in the national capital. All the stakeholders must work closely in tackling these kinds of incidents.
