Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, will preside over a crucial meeting on Wednesday night in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, with the Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and administrators present to discuss a number of crucial issues pertaining to regional security.
Home Minister Amit Shah will speak at the regional conference on “Drug Trafficking and National Security” in Gandhinagar at 5 o’clock, according to individuals with knowledge of the situation.
According to the sources, today’s conference is expected to include the chief ministers, deputy chief ministers, and administrators from Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.
The news agency was informed by the sources that “many things will be discussed concerning the security and preparedness of the states in the western and central States and Union Territories.”
Today, in front of Shah and other dignitaries, additional narcotics will be burned as part of the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking.
In all, insiders told the news agency, 12,438.96 Kg of narcotics worth Rs 632.68 crores would be burned in front of Home Minister Amit Shah.
In Amit Shah’s presence, the northeastern States destroyed drugs and narcotics worth 40.000 kg in Guwahati two weeks ago.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) organised a special operation to burn at least 75,000 kg of confiscated narcotics for 75 days to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence under the direction of Home Minister Amit Shah.
Within 60 days, this goal was met far in advance. Over a lakh kg of drugs and narcotics have already been eliminated.
On July 30 of this year in Chandigarh, the Union Home Minister began this effort by detonating more than 31000 kg of narcotics.
