Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar claimed three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter in the Jumagund hamlet of Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir today (Thursday).
Incriminating materials, such as arms and ammunition, were also discovered by the police.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted “All three attackers were linked to the banned terrorist group LeT. It’s being determined who you are. Arms and ammunition were recovered as incriminating materials.”
The encounter began early this morning, based on specific information gathered by Kupwara Police about terrorist infiltration attempts in Jumagund area.
Three terrorists from the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were killed in an encounter in Baramulla earlier on Wednesday.
Security forces have so far this year neutralized 22 Pakistani terrorists, according to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
“Three JeM militants from Pakistan have been killed. We had been watching them for the past 3-4 months because they had been busy in this area. A police officer was also martyred. We have killed 22 Pakistani terrorists so far this year “Kumar explained.
