The voice that ruled the music industry in the 90s era is trapped in a fresh controversy. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has been accused of sexually molesting a 34-year-old woman during Durga Puja celebrations.  The woman has filed a complaint against the singer in which she has accused him of inappropriately touching her and abusing her during a Kailash Kher concert earlier this week. The reported incident took place on Wednesday at 10 PM in the Lokhandwala area of Mumbai during Durga Puja celebrations where the singer was one of the organisers. Defending himself on micro-blogging site Twitter on Friday, Abhijeet said ‘not everyone can be happy’ which was a reply to a supportive message from Censor Board member Ashoke Pandit.
According to the singer’s friends’ claims, Abhijeet was involved in a major argument with the woman who has accused him of harassing her because she was blocking the view for several others present at the venue.
The woman was later escorted out of the venue by the security guards of the event. She then lodged an official complaint against singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya for sexually harassing her. (Also Read: Salman Khan Case: Complaint filed against Abhijeet; Singer apologises for controversial comments)
The police claim they will be recording the statement of the witnesses before taking any action against the accused.
In the meantime, an FIR has been filed against Abhijeet under Section 354 A (Molestation) 506 & 34 of the India Penal Code (IPC).
