Mumbai: As road movie “Highway” on Sunday completed two years of its voyage, its lead actress Alia Bhatt went down memory lane, and said looking back at the film’s journey and experience of filming it still “gives her goose bumps”.
Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, “Highway” traces the journey of a girl from an affluent family of Delhi after she is kidnapped and how she falls for her abductor as she finds solace in his company.
“Your love just makes my day, year, life! #2YearsOfHighway … A journey and experience that’ll always give me goose bumps,” Alia tweeted on Sunday.
The 2014 film, with Randeep Hooda as the male lead, was shot in different places including Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.
Apart from the abduction angle, there are issues like sexual abuse, and the other side of elite society embedded in the story. The film is backed by soulful music by Oscar-winner A.R. Rahman.
Alia is now all charged up for her movie “Kapoor & Sons”, and Randeep is also busy with his next movie titled “Sarbjit”.
