NEW DELHI: Barely three years ago, David Dhawan’s son, Varun Dhawan first stepped into Bollywood with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ along with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra who too made their debut with in Bollywood with the same movie.

Following his first victory, Varun Dhawan continued to deliver hits such as ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’ and others. Within in no time, the young and talented actor became the perfect ingredient for fun and romantic drama. 

However, Varun in spite of knowing his personality famous for; did not fear from experimenting with new roles. He yet another time proved his versatility and talent with his last release ‘Badlapur’.

On his 28th birthday today, let’s take a look on his Bollywood journey so far:

Student of the Year: Varun Dhawan has been associated with Bollywood for long now. Ahead of his onscreen debut with the movie, Varun worked as an Assistant Director for Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer, ‘My Name is Khan’. Two years after that, Varun then starred in ‘Student of the Year’ with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.

Varun left no stone unturned to exhibit enthusiasm and charm in his character of Rohit Nanda, son of a rich businessman. The movie was a commercial and critical success and managed to do well at the Box Office.

Main Tera Hero: Following ‘Student of the Year’ Varun then joined ladies Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D’Cruz for dad David Dhawan’s ‘Main Tera Hero’. 

Playing a brat named Sreenath ‘Seenu’ Prasad in the movie; Varun was praised extensively for his performance in the film, especially his comic timing. Varun was even compared to Govinda for this movie where many tagged him as ‘Govinda 2’ and ‘Junior Govinda’. Even though the movie had a fantastic opening at the Box Office, it received mixed reviews from the critics and was declared a semi-hit.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania: A rustic charm and a flirtatious nature described Varun in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’ which was his third consecutive hit. 

Paired opposite Alia Bhatt, Varun received incredible praises for his performance in the movie that received a great box office opening. 

Badlapur: The latest release of Varun Dhawan, left one and all including his fans and also critics speechless for his performance. It was not only brilliant, but at par with stars who have been in the industry for decades. Portraying a serious character of a man who is in search of revenge after the murder of his wife and child, Varun did a job no one could actually expect from him at least at this stage.

Badlapur did extremely well both critically and commercially and bagged approximately Rs. 77 crore worldwide.  

The newest heartthrob of the B-town is already set for his next release – ‘ABCD 2’ opposite Shraddha Kapoor. The trailer of the movie is already out and Varun is seen exhibiting some striking dance moves. Shot majorly in Las Vegas, Remo D’Souza’s next venture narrates the tale of a dance crew who compete in the biggest hip-hop dance competition ever in the City of Sin.
