New Delhi: Turns out that claims about actor Shahrukh Khan becoming the brand ambassador for tech giant Apple was nothing, but a false alarm.
There was a buzz about Apple planning to appoint SRK as their brand ambassador in India and the official announcement regarding the same could be made during the launch of iPhone 7, as per reports.
Reports also claim that Apple is in talks with Red Chillies Entertainment as well as other big production houses to use their content for Apple Music and Apple TV. Apple, by personalising content for Indian audiences and participating in the “Make In India” initiative, aims to significantly increase its penetration in India.
In fact, last year the company had entered into an agreement with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, through which Apple Music had exclusive rights to the songs from his film, Dilwale.
During Tim Cook’s visit to India, Shah Rukh Khan organised a gala dinner at his residence ‘mannat’ to celebrate. 
An insider, however, said that the claims are untrue as Apple doesn’t need a brand ambassador in India or anywhere else.
The rumours made the headlines when King Khan hosted a star-studded bash for Apple’s CEO Tim Cook at his residence last month.
