New Delhi: Michael Joseph Jackson, popularly known as the ‘King of Pop’ who ruled the people’s heart for more than four decades, was born on 29th August 1958.

Michael was the eighth child in his family. He began his career in 1964 with his elder brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson.

It was in the 1980s when Jackson’s stars shone and he became the dominant figure in pop-music. His album ‘Thriller’ which also included famous chartbusters has also been credited with breaking racial barriers and transforming the medium into an art form and promotional tool.

Michael’s 1987 album ‘Bad’ spawned the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You’, Bad’, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’, ‘Man in the Mirror’, and ‘Dirty Diana’, becoming the first album to have five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in that year.

And the list of songs of this all-time great can go on and on and on…

Well the idea behind the article is not to make people aware about the ‘King of Pop’ but to re-live the era of pop which Michael gave us. On his birthday, here are a few of his chartbusters to take pop lovers back in time.
