New Delhi: On Tuesday night when the hashtag ‘RaazRebootLeaked’ started trending on microblogging site Twitter, the makers and the actor of the movie were taken aback. But when the the makers downloaded the circulated files to check if it was a link to the full movie, they found that it was only a clip from the movie.
This trending tweet scared the maker of the ‘Raaz’ franchise Mahesh Bhatt and the lead actor Emraan Hashmi to such an extent that they pleaded their fans not to watch the pirated copy but to wait for the movie to hit the silver-screen on September 16, 2016.
The ‘Gangster’ actor even shared a heart-wrenching post saying:
The link that was circulated on the Web is incidentally the same clip that the censor board had asked the the filmmakers to remove from the film. In the clip the actress Kriti is seen screaming the F-word multiple times.
While talking to media, the writer-director Vikram Bhatt said, “We felt the movie had got leaked. When we downloaded from the links, it turned out to be just one clip — of a possessed Kriti (Kharbanda) screaming the F-word multiple times in quick succession. We were relieved that the film hadn’t got leaked.”
This year movies like ‘Great Grand Masti’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Sultan’ and ‘Kabali’ faced a similar situation when they were leaked online just a few days prior to their release.
