New Delhi: Filmmaker Karan Johar on Sunday expressed his condolences to the families of Uri martyrs. The director however, added that boycotting Pakistani artistes would not solve the problem of terrorism.
“I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pak artistes). If this was truly a solution, one would take it,”  he said while speaking to a news channel.
Johar’s statement comes in the wake of MNS’s recent threat to Pakistani artistes like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan asking them to leave the country immediately.
Fawad Khan is part of Johar’s upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, while Mahira is playing lead in SRK-starring ‘Raees’.
The death of 18 soldiers in Uri attack has heightened the tension between India and Pakistan as Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammed is said to be behind the attacks.
