Mumbai: It seems uncertainties regarding the release of Karan Johar directorial venture ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is still hovering around it. The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) on October 14 decided not to screen any film that features Pakistani artistes in Maharashtra and two other states.

After a meeting, Nitin Datar, the president of COEAI, “It was decided that keeping in mind the patriotic feelings and national interest, we have requested all member exhibitors to refrain from screening movies which have involvement of any Pakistani artiste, technician, director or music director.”

“We are also in the process of requesting other associations connected with the film industry to support the sentiments in the best interest of our nation,” he added.

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ stars Pakistani star Fawad Khan in a pivotal role, it will be the first film with any Pak actor to the hit after tension that grew between the two countries after the Uri terror attack.

Earlier, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened to block the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in Maharashtra.

The romantic drama ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has been directed by Karan Johar and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan in lead roles. The film will show a 33-year-old Ranbir romancing a 42-year-old Aishwarya.
